PHOTOGRAPHY COURSE CONTENT CHANGE:

 ART 3777 that will be offered in the Spring 2010 semester will be taught as Intermediate Digital rather than Alternative Intermediate Photography.  This course will count towards the second intermediate course in the photography sequence following Traditional Intermediate Photography.  For more information, please email Joy at jchristiansenerb@ysu.edu.  See course description below:

ART 3777-Intermediate Digital 

Course Description:  This is an intermediate level class that will explore concepts and techniques in photography and related media using Photoshop CS3. Course content will focus on working with photographic images using the computer as the primary means of production while emphasizing creative possibilities and critical awareness of the medium as a fine art.

Pre-Req: ART 2671 and 2673

Visiting Artist Lecture Series


The Visiting Artist Committee would like to announce the second lecture of the 09/10 academic year.  Ginger Owen-Murakami will be joining us in the Bliss Gallery Nov. 19, 2009 at 4:00 pm for an informal lecture to talk about her exhibition "Ancestral Presence".  There will also be a closing reception held following the lecture at 5:00 pm in the gallery.   See Info Below.

Here Are Some Photography Contests You Should Enter...Really!

Entering photo contests and juried shows are good ways to get exposure, build your resume and find out how your pictures compare to those of your contemporaries. Regularly sending packages out is a good habit to get into - to always have something in the mail and always be waiting to hear from someone. Rejections are a sucky part of it, but you know what they say about opinions!
