Moritz Neumüller (Linz, Austria, 1972) is a curator, educator and writer in the field of Photography and New Media.
He holds a Master Degree in Art History and a PhD degree in Information Management and has worked for several important art institutions, such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York, PhotoEspaña in Madrid and LOOP in Barcelona.
At the moment, he is working as Festival Curator at PhotoIreland in Dublin, and directing a study program called European Master of Fine Art Photography for the Istituto di Design in Madrid. In 2009, he founded ArteConTacto, a project aimed at exploring art through all senses, in order to provide access for all visitors, including the visually impaired. Since 2010, he runs the The Curator Ship, a platform that provides useful information for visual artists.
As a curator, Moritz is interested in contemporary work made by photographers and media artists from around the world, especially documentary, social and conceptual work. His publications include El otro lado del alma, Edition Oehrli, Zurich (2005); Bernd & Hilla Becher speak with Moritz Neumüller, La Fábrica / Fundación Telefónica, Madrid (2005); All Inclusive. New Spanish Photography, Lodz Photography Festival, Polonia (2007); TO HAVE & TO LOSE. Three projects by Mireia Sallarès, Galleri Image, Aarhus (2008) and Martin Parr's Best Books of the Decade, PhotoIreland, Dublin (2011).

Photographer Andy Bloxham will speak Monday, April 4 at 10:45 in Bliss Hall, Room 4027. All are welcome to attend. Below is a short bio.

Born and raised in a small Louisiana town, Andy Bloxham turned to his imagination for activity. This playful, creative approach to life extended to Andy's adulthood, where it took form in photography, video, and writing. Receiving an MFA in photography from Louisiana Tech University, his images have appeared throughout the world in numerous group and solo exhibitions, publications, and online media. He is an assistant professor of photography at Cecil College, in North East, Maryland, and a member of the faculty at the Maine Media Workshops.

Frank Hamrick is an assistant professor and the photography area coordinator for the School of Art at Louisiana Tech University. Frank received his BFA from The University of Georgia and his MFA from New Mexico State University. His work mixes photography, storytelling, handmade books and found objects which addresses the private environment a home provides intermingled with personal secrets and memories. His art is consistently evolving from his additional experience at places such as The Maine Photographic Workshops, Hatch Show Print and Nexus Press. With Homecoming Week just around the corner, it's the opportunity
of the year to show off your photography skills. Submit a photo of a
campus event or function, prior to the start of the week's activities
(due by: Monday, October 20th, 12:00 noon), then have it judged by the
students and our panel of judges. The winner will receive a $250 YSU
Bookstore Gift Card.

The top 10 submissions will be posted on the Homecoming website and on
the Homecoming Board in Kilcawley Center (Upper Arcade) with the

Iowa University.

The winning submission will be shown on the Stambaugh Stadium
scoreboard during the game.

Runner-up will receive a $150 YSU Bookstore Gift Card with third-place
receiving a $100 gift card as well, also to the YSU Bookstore.

Hard Drives to be Erased - Act Now!

Beginning on Friday, September 26 the hard drive of each mac in both the 4027 and 3000 labs will be erased. These machines are not personal storage for student work.

PLEASE backup your files on an external hard drive, flash drive and/or CD/DVD by Friday!

The labs will be "swiped" every Friday beginning on September 26.

“Games are now generally acknowledged as culturally significant, comparable with film or television in their economic strength if not their public mindshare. But can they be art?”

HEATHER KELLEY (http://www.kokoromi.org) is a game designer and multimedia artist working in game media since 1994, and is co-founder of the Kokoromi experimental game collective. Her work in commercial games spans a range of content, from web games for girls, to AAA games on PS2 and Xbox, to licensed games for Nintendo DS. Her personal work has included MOO installations, interactive video projections using Quake3 and Unreal Tournament, and games in Processing.

Kelley will moderate and present her work as part of a panel discussion on April 1 at 5pm in Kresge Theater
